Public Service Programs

Public Service Programs offer quality education in various formats, by qualified professional faculty that will meet the needs of a diverse population of students and the communities we serve.

Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) (C55120)

The Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) curriculum is designed to give students essential skills required for employment as a law enforcement officer with state, county, or municipal governments, or with private enterprise.

Cosmetology Programs

Cosmetology (A55140)

The Cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

Cosmetology Instructor Certificate (C55160)

The Cosmetology Instructor curriculum provides a course of study for learning the skills needed to teach the theory and practice of
cosmetology as required by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts.

Criminal Justice Technology (A55180)

The Criminal Justice Technology curriculum is designed to provide knowledge of criminal justice systems and operations. Study will focus on local, state, and federal law enforcement, judicial process, corrections, and security services. The criminal justice system’s role within society will be explored.

Criminal Justice Technology - Latent Evidence (A5518A)

Latent Evidence is a concentration under the curriculum of Criminal Justice Technology. This curriculum is designed to provide knowledge of latent evidence systems and operations. Study will focus on local, state and federal law enforcement, evidence processing and procedures.

Early Childhood Education (A55220)

The Early Childhood Associate curriculum prepares individuals to work with children from infancy through middle childhood in diverse learning environments. Students will combine learned theories with practice in actual settings with young children under the supervision of qualified teachers.

Emergency Management Technology (A55460)

The Emergency Management curriculum is designed to provide students with a foundation of technical and professional knowledge needed for emergency services delivery in local and state government agencies. Study involves both management and technical aspects of law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, and emergency planning.

Esthetics Certificate Programs

Esthetics Technology (C55230)

The Esthetics Technology curriculum provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the art of skin care.

Esthetics Instructor (C55270)

The Esthetics Instructor curriculum provides a course of study covering the skills needed to teach the theory and practices of esthetics as required by the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology.

Funeral Service Education (A55260)

The Funeral Service Education curriculum provides students with the opportunity to become proficient in basic funeral service skills.

Fire Protection Technology (A55240)

The Fire Protection Technology curriculum is designed to provide individuals with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors. It also provides a sound foundation for continuous higher learning in fire protection, administration, and management.

Manicuring/Nail Technology (C55400)

The Manicuring/Nail Technology curriculum provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the nail technology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

School-Age Education (A55440)

The School-Age Education curriculum prepares individuals to work with children in elementary through middle grades in diverse learning environments. Students will combine learned theories with practice in actual settings with school-age children under the supervision of qualified teachers.
